Their mango chicken is yummy but be prepared to wait longer for food. I have been there multiple times

Food & ambience are always great! Especially the Malaysian traditional dishes...roti prata, rendang beef or chicken, black pepper vegetables, coconut rice...

I've been here several times throughout the past year and have always enjoyed the food and service! This time, I went at opening time for dinner (5PM) and some people were already seated early. We ordered 5 dishes to eat family style for a group of 4 and we left with to go boxes. My go-to order is the mee goreng, beef satay, roti prata, and singaporean black peppered beef or lamb (lamb today). I usually order two of the roti prata - it's very hot and fluffy and the sauce paired with it, is delicious! The beef satay also came with a well paired sauce and was very tender. The mee goreng is probably my favorite dish, and the singaporean back peppered beef/lamb is always a good option for me to get as meat and veggies since it comes with string beans and eggplants. The lamb was good and didn't leave a strong gamey taste for me. I tried the pineapple fried rice dish again (haven't had it in a year or two) and felt indifferent about it - my brother said the rice was really mushy at the restaurant but said it tasted really good as leftovers.

I went to Banana Leaf on weekday lunch, and we were seated immediately. The restaurant was not busy, but it was a little loud so I can imagine the weekends being even louder and harder to have conversations. However, the interior design was nice and could accommodate bigger parties. The service was average, no complaints. For the food, the coconut rice is a nice side dish. It is softer than normal rice and the coconut taste isn't overpowering. The Mango Chicken has a nice presentation and I recommend trying this dish. It has a nice sweet tanginess to it and is slightly spicy. If don't like spicy food, it might be hard to eat, but otherwise it isn't that spicy. Singaporean Black Pepper Beef is very tender and covered with black pepper sauce. The pepper taste is very strong, so if you like the taste of pepper, you should try this dish.

Excellent Malaysian food. Mango chicken was sweet, sour, and tender. Sizzling chicken had a very nice char flavor. Asam eggplant was super soft, strong onion flavor, must have while hot and with rice. Pad thai was too strong on the "ketchup" flavor, wouldn't recommend but everything else was very flavorful. Service was fast, efficient, and most importantly kind! They gave us free mango sticky rice in the house (which was soft, creamy, and warm). Decor gave spacious with vases and tan wood. Get reservations because it does get packed!

I never noticed banana leaf without people waiting outside, but this time we did not see people waiting and it was 10 mins before the closing time and they allowed us. Roti canai- 5/5 Pepper chicken- 5/5 Pineapple fried rice -4/5 One of the best Malaysian restaurants in the bay. We thoroughly enjoyed the roti curry and the pepper chicken.

My family and I have been craving Malaysian/Thai food for some time and Banana Leaf definitely hit the spot. We ordered: Basil Fried Rice Papaya Salad Seafood Curry Laksa Mee Roti Prata Singaporean Black Pepper Eggplant & String Bean Black Sticky Rice with Mango Fried Banana with Ice Cream Everything was amazing but I would highly recommend the eggplant dish and the curry for sure. It was pretty busy when we came in but service was delightful. We were seated and served fairly quickly with food coming out at a good pace where we weren't rushed to eat or hungrily waiting for the next dish. The restaurant was lively with other patrons and overall was a nice dining experience that I would definitely do again. We were too hungry and started eating before the camera could, but I was able to snap one of the papaya salad :-)
